Saturday, December 30, 2017, I went to my great aunts funeral. She died December 22, 2017, and was 99 years old. It was not a surprise when she died. She was ready to die. She mistakenly believed she was 100 years old. Nobody wanted to correct her, so they had a 100-year birthday party a year early. She earned that respect. Lorraine was a very generous and was very independent lady. She had a bad car accident when she was 94 years old and that is what slowed her down. Before the accident, she was still shoveling her own snow, gardening, and driving.
