This is a really good article about the health benefits of drinking green tea. I like how they explain why you should drink green tea daily. It is very easy for the layperson to understand. A very good article about the obstacles for small tea farmers in Nepal and most likely the plight of small farmers in other tea countries. It shows some of the hurdles for farmers who are providing high-quality organic tea. Current trends of small farmers producing the final product versus having the medium size factories take the raw leaves and produce the final product, plus marketing, compliance, and everything else that comes along with it. The small farmers do not have the expertise nor the resources to bring their product to the right people and sell the tea at the price it deserves.
The article also mentions that there is a demand for organic tea, it seems more the lack of cash of the small farmers to get the certification. There are some groups and cooperatives that are trying to help with this situation. It makes sense to help these farmers because of the demand for this type of tea and the fact the farmers are already producing it. I enjoy these type of articles because it helps to understand the tea process better.
I have been subscribing to the World Tea news for about 10 – 15 years. This is where I stay current with tea issues.
A nice article shows the health benefits of black and green tea. Some common elements of both teas protect your heart, boost your brain function, the presence of EGCG in black tea(though not as much as green tea), and beneficial theaflavins in black tea. The article also into some other health benefits too. In the end, it suggests that someone should drink what tea they like best, which I agree. Both are healthy though some different benefits and many similar. There is one drawback to tea for some. It is the caffeine. Caffeine can be beneficial to some and some people cannot have it at all. Yet another great article found by the Specialty Tea Institute.
I am really excited to have this opportunity. Just found out this morning about winning. Still, need some details, but am super excited. I will be doing my Pop Up at Schroeder’s Department Store in Two Rivers, WI for the months of November and December. There address is 1623 Washington St, Two Rivers, WI 54241. This is part of the Two Rivers Main Street program. It starts Monday, November 5th and ends Monday, December 31st.
Two Rivers is trying hard and succeeding at reviving their city. Many new shops are there that people from bigger cities will enjoy, but not too big city that it loses it small town appeal.
Although the picture I used may not look like my retail space there, it is retail I have at a current place. Still, some things to work out.
Green tea is high in polyphenols, especially flavonoids and phenolic acid. The reason polyphenols are good for you is they help reduce cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular and neurogenerative diseases. Polyphenols are antioxidants that repair free radical damage and also reduces Type 2 diabetes, inflammation, obesity, and heart disease. This is a well-researched article that I got from the Specialty Tea Institute. The article also goes into other foods that are high in polyphenols too.
I am really happy to be a part of the Ready Retail Lab at Willy Street Coop. I am the vendor for October. This is a big deal for me because they will have my product at their 3 locations. The order is almost ready, just a few things that will arrive tomorrow, but just confirmed Monday that I will deliver the order on Saturday, September 29, 2018 so I should be good. I hope to learn from this experience and hope everything goes well. Would like it if they decide to continue to use my product after October, but that will be known after October. I have other prospects, but until they are for sure that is all I will say.
Also do have some vendor events as the holiday season nears and some of them are the same ones I was a part of last year. Here is hoping that they go as well as last year or even gasp better. I was struggling with what to write today, so this post may not be one of my better ones.
This painful condition affects quite a few people and until I read this article I did not realize that black tea may help. The polyphenolic pigment thearubigins in black tea enhance bowel movement. It was also mentioned that where, when grown, and when picked will affect black teas ability to help. For more on the article please visit the page here. This article was made known to me by the Specialty Tea Institute in New York City.
This article is for all the men and for ladies who have men in their life, aka pretty much anyone. The article states that 80% of men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer by the time they are 60 years old. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer for men. This is a really short article and does not state the percentage of drinking a couple cups of green tea can help reduce prostate cancer, just that it can. I do not doubt it can help with prostate cancer, but was hoping on a percentage of or another nominal amount especially since it states 80 % and 2 cups of green tea a day.
Many of these places have been in the works for several months. I have my tea to buy as retail at Glass Art & Supply in Green Bay and Inspire Art Gallery in De Pere. If you want to drink my tea try The Cannery Public Market it is being served in their restaurant. Coming in October I am honored to be part of the Ready Retail Lab at Willy Street Coop. Hopefully this leads to me having my tea there after October. There are 3 locations, so this would be great. I have a few other places in the works, but until I have set dates and firmed up the details I will keep it to myself.
My farmers markets are winding down with only Algoma Farmer’s Market going until the end of October the rest are until the end of September. I have a few vendor events that I will vend. Hopefully a great opportunity for November and December, but that is not a sure thing and until it is certain I will not say anything about it.
Oh, almost forgot I am doing the NEWaukee Night Market this Wednesday and this Saturday I will be a part of 18th Annual Boxer Bash besides doing three of my farmers markets.
Well, I am part of a group where we had an assignment to produce a video. Here is my video I made. I hope you enjoy it. It a video showing how to make matcha tea. There is my spirit animal and director. A cat painted on a rock.
